Professor Zamaria is a tenured faculty member at Ryerson University and is appointed Research Fellow at the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies, York University. He serves as Principal Investigator for the Canadian Internet Project (www.cipic.ca) – a longitudinal research study that examines the behaviour and attitudes of Canadians towards the Internet, mobile devices and emerging new technologies (2004, 2007.) As a member of the World Internet Project, CIP compares its findings with thirty research centres around the world. He has led and participated in several international missions, forums and gatherings that examine content development, exchanges and strategies, from both creative and business perspectives. Concurrently, he is Financial Director for several film, television and new media content funding agencies in Canada (Bell Fund, Independent Production Fund, Cogeco Fund, Canwest Alberta Fund ). His background is as an independent producer, broadcast executive and until recently, he ran a sanctuary for abused and mistreated chickens.
